About

j-photoJessica Colley is a freelance travel and food writer currently living in New York City. After living abroad in Dublin, Ireland and other areas of Europe for three years, she returned to the States in 2010.

Jessica covers cuisine, culture, the arts, and experiential travel. Her work has appeared online, in print, and in guidebooks. Recent writing has been published in the New York Times, Bon Appetit, New York magazine, Departures, Food & Wine, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Toronto Star, Postcards magazine, and World Hum. With a background in hotels and luxury travel, Jessica is a Forbes Travel Guide correspondent and contributor at Jetsetter and Luxury Travel Magazine.

Jessica writes about travel in Europe — from cycling in the Aran Islands to getting her hands dirty in Germany’s Riesling harvest — for Fodors.com, CNN Travel, BBC Travel, Shermans Travel, Fortnighter, EuroCheapo, and EuropeUpClose. She also reviews restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn for Clean Plates, writes about culinary getaways for Luxury Travel Magazine, and interviews chefs for her “Writer in the Kitchen” series. In 2013, one of her stories was chosen as a notable selection in the Best American Travel Writing anthology.

Beyond New York City and Dublin, she has lived in Miami, Savannah, Berlin, Oxford, and the Campania region of Italy — but loves having a cappuccino somewhere new.

About Travel Bites Deep:

Venice

Travel Bites Deep shares stories from one travel writer who is always dreaming of her next meal or next trip.

Posts with an international focus are centered in Europe, transporting readers across the pond with sights, sounds, and tastes. Jessica believes that travel comes in big or small packages and encourages readers to infuse travel into their daily lives through cooking, dining, and exploring local neighborhoods.

Jessica doesn’t like to be pigeonholed into one category of travel — and she doesn’t think her readers should be either. On this blog you will find inspiration for whatever sort of travel strikes your fancy today: luxury travel, adventure travel, culinary travel, country escapes, city excursions, and wherever Jessica’s wanderlust takes her.
